Who this is for. A tutor who has just signed up and wants to schedule the first lesson as fast as possible. This is the order of actions only, with no detail: every link leads to the full explanation.
Step 1. Sign in
Open the "Sign up" page and sign in any way you like: with Google, with Telegram or by phone number. Tick the consent checkbox, otherwise the sign-in buttons do nothing.
Nothing has to be confirmed in advance: neither email nor phone number is required at the start.
After that the workspace shows the "First steps" card: it is the same list as here, except it ticks off what you have already done.
More: "Basics", how to sign in.
Step 2. Add a subject and a rate
"Profile", the "Services" card. Press "Edit", then add a subject and fill in its name and hourly rate. Save.
This step is required, and it comes first for a reason: without a subject that has a rate there is no way to create a lesson. The price of a lesson is calculated from the rate, and there is nowhere else for it to come from. A subject without a rate never appears in lesson forms.
More: "First steps", services and rates.
Step 3. Add a student
"Home", the "Students" block, two buttons to choose from:
- "Add student" creates a card right now. This is the fastest way: the student does nothing, and you can schedule lessons immediately. They have no sign-in of their own;
- "Invite student" gives you a link. Send it in any messenger: whoever follows it gets their own workspace with a schedule, homework and chat.
If you are unsure, start with the first one: the invitation can be sent later with the "Invite" button in the student's row, and the card turns into a real account without losing any history.
It is worth entering the student's phone number right away: that is what later connects the card to their account.
More: "Students and invitations".
Step 4. Schedule a lesson
The "Schedule" block, the "New lesson" button. Fill in the subject, the student, the date, the time and the duration, check the lesson price line and press "Schedule".
If the lessons repeat every week, switch to "Recurring" and set the weekdays, the start date and the end date: the workspace creates the whole series at once, up to 12 weeks ahead.
More: "Lessons", creating one.
Step 5. Run it and mark it
On the day of the lesson its row gets a "Start lesson" button, and after the lesson a "Finish" button. Pressing "Finish" is what makes the lesson count as held: from that moment it enters the money for the month.
If the student paid you directly, press "Mark as paid" in the lesson card. Until payments go live on the site, this is your bookkeeping: those marks feed the "Received in 30 days" line and the "Payment" column in the monthly report.
More: "Lessons", how a lesson goes.
What you can do later
None of this is required, but all of it pays off:
- connect Google Calendar ("Profile", the "Connect calendar" button): lessons travel to your calendar by themselves, and the lesson card gets a "Join Google Meet" button. Without it there is no video link at all;
- set homework right in the lesson card with the "Assign" button;
- put materials into "Media": a handout is uploaded once and attached to any number of lessons;
- set the late cancellation window in "Finance", the "Lesson cancellation" card: it decides from which moment a student's cancellation counts as a lesson held;
- install the workspace on your phone with its own icon, so lesson reminders reach you.
